This is a character from a short film I've been working on for a while now.
This is a test with the rig

May 9, 2013

(I just realized i never posted this.  Its probably safe to do so now.)

My latest freelance project (May 2013).  This had a CRAZY deadline, so there are tons of problems here.  It was, however, a great experience and I think it turned out pretty well, all things considered.

for better or worse is all mine.  Hope you like it.

April 19, 2012

I just finished my latest project.  It is now on YouTube, so go check it out.

If you are still interested in seeing more stuff, here is one that was finished sometime around December.  I didnt do nearly as much on this one, but it was still fun to be a part on it.

dialog test

I have been trying dialog out again recently. This is my latest test. Nothing special and really short. I just wanted to focus on achieving good facial expressions and a convincing lip sync.

I found the rig online and I dont quite remember how, but I am pretty sure it was through this page some how.

Let me know what you think.

latest project

so ... I recently started doing freelance and I completed my first project for a client last week. It was pretty fun to do. And in addition ...

they are going to fly me to Australia to be a part of the tour!!

...

ok, not really ... if you have an interest, you can check it out. Its a little over 3 min long and it was completed with nearly the entire adobe suite. It was a fun little project to do.

dont look it up on YouTube(becuase it has the word sexy in it, the suggestions are a bit sketchy, unless you just want to add to the number of "likes" it has), just hit the play button.

Then here is the website where you can find more info about the tour, and what the video was made for: http://sexyonraw.com/

stairs

This is the latest assignment I completed for AM. There are things that work and things that don't. If I have time, sometime, I'll go back and fix a few things on it. I still think its entertaining.

... animation mentor ...

Animation School

I recently started Animation Mentor and I am having a blast doing it. Right now the assignments are all fairly simple.

... more HR animation ...

I know that none of these are good animations. They are just good enough for what the project needed. However, I did learn new things with each of the animations that I did. Before this particular animation, I can't recal ever doing a 3D walk cycle that looked passable. I have also never done a cycle and implemented the cycle into another scene.
Anyway there are lots of flaws with this, but I spent enough time trying to figure things out that I felt it necessary and appropriate to add here.

... more animation

This is the completed slide for the HR Animation that I've been doing at work. It's fairly poor video game quality animation and the audio is a bit off, but here it is. It was fun to do.

Our film is looking beautiful. These are a couple of test renders from the film of shots that I animated.

Even though they are just tests, they are very encouraging to all of us.

Another Trailer

Here is a link to the second trailer for Age of the Dragons. There were some complications with the schedule and the pipeline, so although I worked on a lot more shots on the film, not all of the work that I did ended up in the film.
However most of the shots that I did work on are in this trailer, so even though my work is not what you see, it is really exciting to see the final shots all rendered out.

Jump

We are about to head into animation on our new project at work. It is a project that will heavily involve character animation (I know right?? How excited am I?!?)

This is a test animation that i did with testing the rig that we bought from RocketBox. I didn't use reference so the mechanics are all off, but i thought i did pretty good working from my own knowledge of the mechanics of a jump. I only spent about three hours tops, so yes there are lots of problems, but it was still a fun exercise.

Age of the Dragons

Here is the film that i did some animation on over the summer. I still dont know what the entire story is, since i was brought on around the middle of the project, and i dont think they had an animatic for it. At least not that I saw. So, based on the trailer, there might be a few questionable scenes in it.

When it comes out, maybe i'll post some of the work i did on it.

Wagon Train

This was a fun test, and it took forever to set up for how short and simple it is.

Here are all the pieces that it took to put it together
