Jump

We are about to head into animation on our new project at work. It is a project that will heavily involve character animation (I know right?? How excited am I?!?)

This is a test animation that i did with testing the rig that we bought from RocketBox. I didn't use reference so the mechanics are all off, but i thought i did pretty good working from my own knowledge of the mechanics of a jump. I only spent about three hours tops, so yes there are lots of problems, but it was still a fun exercise.

Age of the Dragons

Here is the film that i did some animation on over the summer. I still dont know what the entire story is, since i was brought on around the middle of the project, and i dont think they had an animatic for it. At least not that I saw. So, based on the trailer, there might be a few questionable scenes in it.

When it comes out, maybe i'll post some of the work i did on it.

Wagon Train

This was a fun test, and it took forever to set up for how short and simple it is.

Here are all the pieces that it took to put it together

bouncing ball

this was a fun test to do. it was great to get back to something so basic. I think that i will probably do more of them to get better at the basics of what this is supposed to teach. since it was so fun, i decided i also wanted to put it into a "live action" still image that i found on the web.

hope you like it. critiques are welcome.

sketchbook stuff

i haven't sketched in an actual sketchbook for a long time, so i have been trying to get back into it, therefor these are some sketches that i have done recently

both of these pages are from open life drawing sessions on Fridays
these were between 30 sec and 2 minute poses, with two 5 minute poses as well

some more sketch booking drawing. My wife drew the flower at the top right and number thing at the bottom left.

more sketch booking at a local park

Gymnast

quick morning warm up sketch, about a half hour.

Storyboard Panal

I did some boards for our Senior film "butchered meats".
All of the boards that everybody did are being redone by the director to have a more consistent feel, but i just liked the way this one turned out.

After Effects Anim

JibJab from Tim Hinton on Vimeo.

The CTL is thinking of doing a project utilizing Jib Jab style animation. I did a test showing some of the stuff that's possible. The animation was done pretty fast (total time was about 3 hours), but it took a lot longer to cut them out of their pictures.

ZBrush try

I just started to try and learn ZBrush last night. I have tried it a few times in the past and had very little success because i kept on getting frustrated with it. But last night i tried to push through a few of the frustrations that i had with the interface.

This is my first atempt with Zspheres, which is a weird experience all together.
